What does Criced mean?

Criced is the Welsh word for Cricket. As a proudly Welsh company, the name reflects our roots and our passion for connecting talented young cricketers with outstanding UK independent schools.

Who can apply through Criced?

Our programme is aimed at talented young cricketers aged 11–18 who are looking to combine academic study at a leading UK independent school with high-level cricket development.

Do I need to be an elite player already?

No. We work with promising players at different stages of development. What matters most is attitude, academic commitment and the potential to thrive in a UK school environment.

Which schools do you work with?

We partner with a growing network of leading UK independent schools including Christ College Brecon, King's Taunton, Clifton College, Downside School, Dean Close Cheltenham, Oundle School and Millfield School.

What does the process look like?

It starts with a conversation. We review academic and cricketing profiles, identify suitable schools, guide families through applications and scholarship trials, and support visa and pastoral arrangements.

Is there support for girls and women's cricket?

Yes. We believe the growth of women's cricket has created unprecedented opportunities for young female players, and we actively support girls pursuing UK school placements.

How are school fees and scholarships handled?

We help families understand fee structures and identify scholarship and bursary opportunities. Final financial arrangements are made directly with the school.

Can you help with visas and travel?

Yes. We provide guidance on the Child Student visa route, travel planning and what to expect on arrival so pupils feel prepared from day one.

Do you advise on university pathways too?

Absolutely. We offer ongoing guidance on A-Level, IB and university choices to help pupils move from school success to the right higher-education destination.

What does a scholarship application require?

Typically we need recent school reports, cricket references or match footage, a personal statement from the pupil, and an indication of academic targets. Each school has its own assessment, which may include trials, interviews and entrance tests. We guide families through every document and deadline.

How much is your service?

Initial interview, school suggestions, set up of meetings and negotiation with school are all FREE of charge. Bespoke services such as tailored itineraries, arrangement of guardians, and scholarship applications attract a small fee, advised in advance of the service required and consistently below the general market rate — and never obligatory.
