UK Boarding Schools with Cricket for Indian Families

For parents in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad and beyond who want a world-class academic education alongside serious cricket development.

What families in India need to know

Academic fit

Most Indian applicants join us from CBSE, ICSE or IB schools. UK schools read these curricula well; strong maths and science marks travel particularly favourably, and we translate reports and grading scales into the format UK admissions teams expect.

Cricket background

We work with players coming through district and state age-group cricket, academy programmes and school teams. Video of genuine match play — not net footage — is what UK coaches want to see.

Timing your application

The Indian academic year ends in March or April, and UK schools start in early September. Families who begin conversations 12–18 months ahead get the widest choice of schools and awards.

Travel and access

Direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai serve Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester, all within easy reach of the schools we work with.

Boys and girls, 11 to 18

Criced works with sons and daughters alike. Girls' cricket in UK independent schools has grown faster than any other sport, with dedicated coaching, fixtures and pathways into the professional women's game.

Questions from Indian families

Can an Indian student get a cricket scholarship in a UK school?

Yes. UK independent schools award sport, all-rounder and academic scholarships, often combined with means-tested support. Awards usually cover a percentage of fees and always require academic suitability alongside playing ability.

Will my child adapt from CBSE or ICSE to GCSE and A Level?

Most do, and quickly. GCSE and A Level are narrower and more analytical than CBSE or ICSE. Schools assess English and maths at entry and provide EAL support where it helps.

How much does a UK boarding school cost from India?

Budget roughly £13,000–£19,000 per term for full boarding, plus guardianship, flights, insurance and uniform. Scholarships and bursaries can reduce this meaningfully for the right pupil.
